Dr. Fei-Fei Chao Joins Andrews Kurth
September 15, 2006WASHINGTON, DC – Andrews Kurth announced today that Dr. Fei-Fei Chao joined the firm as a Partner in the Intellectual Property section as of August 1, 2006.
Fei-Fei’s broad practice covers intellectual property litigation, all phases of representation before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and other intellectual property related matters, including intellectual property litigation, technology licensing, opinion, due diligence and patent portfolio design.
In intellectual property litigation Fei-Fei has represented clients in trade secret, trademark and patent infringement litigation in various courts, including appellate courts and before the U.S. International Trade Commission (USITC).
In patent prosecution Fei-Fei’s practice covers biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, natural products, electronics and mechanical art.
“With her Ph.D. and professional experience in law and biochemistry, Fei-Fei possesses a relatively rare and valuable combination of capabilities that will serve our clients well,” said Managing Partner Howard Ayers. “We've been searching for a lawyer with her combination of credentials for some time and are very pleased that she joined Andrews Kurth.”
Fei-Fei holds a doctorate in biochemistry and has seven years of research and teaching experience. She will be based in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.
“Fei-Fei will play a central role in our expanding China- and Taiwan-based initiatives and serve as the biochemist anchor in the array of scientific backgrounds that we are building in the firm’s IP section,” said Aldo Noto, Partner and Practice Group Coordinator of the firm’s IP practice.
Her litigation experience covers a variety of technologies, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, electronics, power supplies, LCD televisions and monitors, integrated circuit designs, computer software, and batteries. She is also particularly known for her successful representation of clients in litigation at the USITC under Section 337 of the Tariff Act of 1930 and involving Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) and FDA matters.
