July 10, 2003

DALLAS -- Andrews & Kurth L.L.P. has enhanced its national corporate securities, finance and litigation practices with the addition of 15 lawyers from the Dallas office of Arter & Hadden L.L.P. The new attorneys will join the firm on July 16, 2003. This addition brings the Andrews & Kurth‘s Dallas office to 70 attorneys and more than 380 attorneys firmwide.

Joining the firm as partners are Mark Solomon, Joseph Hoffman, Vic Zanetti, Bill Compton, David Washburn and Bill Rivers. In addition, eight other attorneys in Arter & Hadden's Dallas office have agreed to join Andrews & Kurth, including Robert Bradford, Stephen Finley and Stanley Huller, as Of Counsel. “The firm recognized that Dallas is a corporate headquarters town with an amazing business community and is a growing technology center. The addition of these lawyers is a clear sign of Andrews & Kurth’s commitment to the Metroplex area,” says Charlie Marshall, managing partner of the Dallas office, “we are thrilled to welcome these highly respected attorneys into Andrews & Kurth.”

“A key to the group’s decision to join Andrews & Kurth was the firm’s future goals and place within the legal community. While many law firms are downsizing or sitting idle due to the sluggish economy, Andrews & Kurth has proactively taken advantage of growth opportunities,” said Mark Solomon. “In addition to the former Brobeck attorneys in Austin, the firm has added several other key lawyers over the past year. We looked at several opportunities with many excellent law firms, but in the end, Andrews & Kurth shared our vision for a growing practice in Dallas and a true entrepreneurial spirit. This unique attitude allows us the perfect platform to serve our existing clients and continue to grow our practice regionally and nationally.” The Dallas office of Andrews & Kurth L.L.P. was opened in 1982 to serve the booming North Texas economy.

Andrews & Kurth was founded in 1902, and is headquartered in Houston. In addition, the firm has offices in Austin, The Woodlands, Los Angeles, London, New York and Washington DC. The firm has an international clientele and broad industry experience, particularly in the areas of energy, finance, technology, real estate, tax, litigation, labor, health care and many others.
