May 23, 2008Dallas, Texas
DALLAS - Andrews Kurth LLP Partner Kathleen J. Wu has earned a spot on the 2008 Most Powerful and Influential Women in Texas list. The inaugural listing of the state’s leading women appears in the premier issue of Texas Diversity magazine, published in May 2008.
Wu, a partner in the Real Estate and Banking/Finance practices at Andrews Kurth, is one of 36 women recognized by the prestigious listing. She is one of only six attorneys honored by the magazine published by the Texas Diversity Council.
“Texas has a rich tradition of strong and influential women,” says Wu. “I am incredibly humbled that Texas Diversity selected me for this honor.”
To select the honorees, Texas Diversity accepted outside nominations and conducted thorough research to identify the state’s most influential women. According to Texas Diversity, the honorees “demonstrate leadership excellence, maintain a record of accomplishments throughout their careers, are major contributors to their fields of work, significantly impact the profitability and direction of their organizations, and are committed to the well-being of the community.”
“Kathleen is a leader in every sense of the word, from her legal work to her community service,” says Andrews Kurth Managing Partner Bob Jewell. “The firm is very proud of her and applaud her for this well-deserved recognition.”
Wu is consistently recognized in publications such as Texas Lawyer, Texas Monthly and D Magazine as one of the state's top real estate and finance lawyers. She has earned numerous honors for her community and professional service, including the Justice David Wellington Chew Award from the Asian Pacific Interest Section of the State Bar of Texas, the Louise B. Raggio Award from the Dallas Women Lawyers Association and the "Women of Spirit" award from the American Jewish Congress Southwest Region.
