Andrews Kurth Delivers Gifts to SOME (So Others Might Eat) in Time for Thanksgiving
November 21, 2007Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, DC – Andrews Kurth’s Washington DC Office Managing Partner Shemin Proctor announced today that the firm will donate $10,000 to SOME, a community-based organization that helps the poor and homeless of the nation’s capital. The office will also provide food donations collected during its two week food drive along with the financial contribution.
"We are pleased to make this financial donation for the third year in a row and, this year, to also make a food donation.” said Proctor. “SOME does a great job of providing food to thousands of hungry individuals and families. We are proud to be part of SOME’s efforts.”
Posters and flyers were put up around the office to promote the food drive. The donation was made on behalf of the firm’s clients and in recognition of the charity’s ongoing efforts to serve hungry children and adults in the DC area.
“We are very grateful for this support from Andrews Kurth,” said Father John Adams, SOME’s President. “Their caring helps SOME move people from homelessness to independence—work that we could not do without generous community partners such as Andrews Kurth.”
During 2007, SOME has been able to provide:
