Andrews Kurth Adds Partner to Head White Collar Practice in NY

NEW YORK – AmLaw 100-ranked Andrews Kurth announced today that white collar trial attorney Edward “Ted” E. Groves has joined the firm as a partner and to head the firm’s national Corporate Compliance, Investigations and Defense practice in the New York office. Groves will provide Andrews Kurth’s clients with a broad range of assistance regarding pending and proposed state and federal criminal charges, multifaceted internal corporate investigations, document and witness inquiries, and complex tax and accounting issues.

Groves’ previous experience includes work as Special Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona from 1997 to 2005. He practiced as a trial attorney in the United States Department of Justice Tax Division, Criminal Enforcement Section in the US District Courts of Arizona, Hawaii and Western United States from 1996 to 2005. Groves also was Assistant District Attorney for the New York County District Attorney’s Office (Manhattan) from 1990 to 1996.

Groves received his LL.M. in Taxation and J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 2001 and 1990, respectively. Groves graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S. in 1985. He is a member of the bars of New York, Connecticut, Maryland, Arizona, and the District of Columbia, as well as the American Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
