Craig’s practice includes assisting clients with defense of "mega" environmental cases and negotiating environmental matters with government agencies.  Craig’s practice also includes a diverse array of transactional work, including assisting clients with due diligence in various real estate and other matters; drafting of appropriate public disclosures concerning environmental matters/liabilities; providing environmental counseling concerning real estate transactions and redevelopments; and offering counseling and assistance concerning general environmental compliance matters. 

Prior to starting his legal career, Craig worked for approximately five years with local, state, and federal agencies including the predecessor agency to the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality and the U.S. Department of Energy.  In 1998, Craig was honored as the "1998 TNRCC Employee of the Year." 

Representative Experience

  • Assisted in representation of Zurn Industries, Inc. et al in General Cable Industries, Inc. v. Jacuzzi Brands, Inc. et al., 4:05-cv-00428, E.D. Tex.  On September 28, 2006, U.S. District Judge Schell granted a motion to dismiss filed on behalf of our clients for failure to state a claim under the federal Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act.  2006 WL 2827168.
  • Assists with representation of clients involved in contaminated estuary and river environments.
  • Assists clients concerning resolution of enforcement actions filed by state and federal authorities, including the Environmental Protection Agency Region 6, and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
  • Assists with conducting and overseeing many environmental due diligence projects in various industries and involving such business transactions as mergers and acquisitions, purchase and sale of assets, public offerings, and real estate transactions.  Manages due diligence to identify potential environmental liabilities and advises on a various means to allocate and transfer such liabilities in the transactional setting.  Advises public companies on environmental disclosure requirements and crafts environmental disclosure for numerous periodic filings and security offerings.
