HOUSTON –The Houston Business Journal announced today that Andrews Kurth LLP is the “best place to work” among Houston-based companies with 500+ employees.
“Andrews Kurth prides itself on having a family environment. I believe that work relationships in the office are the essence of what distinguishes us,” says Deborah Ganjavi, Director of Human Resources.
Some of the perks that Andrews Kurth offers include gift recognitions for employees, holiday parties, theme parties, attorney retreats, sporting events and an employee disaster relief program. In recent years, the firm has also made a concerted effort to focus on diversity initiatives by forming the Women’s Initiatives Committee, providing flexible work arrangements, and taking an active role in retaining and advancing attorneys of diverse backgrounds.
One employee says, “Andrews Kurth continues to keep the happiness of its staff in mind. They keep finding ways to raise the morale of their staff, and it is evident that this is important to them. There is an overriding sense of family, even for such a large law firm. They have an open-door policy, and our feelings are always taken into consideration. They work with us in whatever our personal circumstances are. They are fair-minded and they listen, and a good job done is rewarded.”
In June, the Andrews Kurth Austin office was named one of the 50 Best Places to Work in Central Texas by the Austin Business Journal. The office officially placed #10 in the category of companies not based in central Texas, yet who have a significant presence in the area.
In May of this year, the Dallas Business Journal’s Best Places to Work survey listed Andrews Kurth's Dallas office as one of the top 15 places to work in the category of mid-size businesses.
With recognition in Austin, Dallas and Houston, Andrews Kurth is the only law firm to place in all three regions.
This is the fifth year for the Houston Business Journal’s Best Places to Work program. A record 143 companies submitted a survey for participation, and 106 of those companies completed the process. Employees at the nominated companies are asked to complete a confidential employee survey that covers 39 questions.
For more than a century, Andrews Kurth LLP has built its practice on the belief that “straight talk is good business.” Real answers, clear vision and mutual respect define the firm’s relationships with clients, colleagues, communities and employees. With more than 400 lawyers and offices in Austin, Dallas, Houston, London, Los Angeles, New York, The Woodlands, and Washington, DC, Andrews Kurth represents a wide array of clients in all areas of business law.
